This course will provide participants with an overview of the challenges nurses face in combating central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSI). This comprehensive course can be utilized for nursing staff throughout all healthcare settings and experience levels as these central line care and infection control considerations can apply for all. Within this course, the participant will review central line care guidelines, explore challenges in preventing central line-associated bloodstream infections, learn about collaborative solutions to improve patient outcomes, discover new tools and technologies to help reduce the risk of central line contamination, examine how to identify barriers to safe and effective central line care, and learn about nurse-driven quality improvement initiatives to reduce central line-associated bloodstream infections.
