Cardiomyopathy
The purpose of this continuing education program is to inform and educate healthcare providers on the different types of cardiomyopathy.The three types of cardiomyopathy discussed are dilated, hypertrophic, and restrictive.​ At the end of this course, the healthcare provider will recognize the importance of efficient diagnosis and timely treatment in order for these patient to live as normal as possible. Patient education and rehabilitation programs are an important part of the care plan.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify the causes of dilated, hypertrophic and restrictive cardiomyopathies.
  2. Discuss the diagnosis and treatment options for cardiomyopathies.
  3. Compile the information needed to supply education to these patients about their medications, diet, and activities.
